All that car stuff came up in some of the various specification papers about 5G.

'Cloud computing'? People having remote access to much higher power machines than they do at home. And being able to use them with minimal lag? Cloud gaming companies are going to benefit a lot from 5G I think. Also Machine Learni

If Electron wasn't such a large minimal build, that's the way I think things could go. I think something more like Web Components would be the direction I'd look in for a solution to this.

See the link in my previous reply below. You've had to manually "Allow" it for a while, if a site needs it. But it's really Adobe dropping support of it, who announced it in 2017. http://web.archive.org/w

The warning says "Flash Player will no longer be supported after December 2020". Clicking "Learn More" takes you here : https://www.blog.google/products/chrome/saying-goodbye-flash...

Chrome is dropping support imminently (at the end of the year). It's been showing a warning and date about it for quite a while (if you still have it active).

Not at all hinting at a downside. Just pointing out that 'Jitsi' is the sum of various parts ;) (I'm currently looking in to using Mediasoup for some WebRTC to RTMP ideas I've been mulling.)

Jitsi is very, very impressive. But their whole platform is also bound up with a lot of other tech in the stack. (jitsi-meet, jitsi-videobridge, jicofo and 'Prosody' (XMPP).

Skype has also used it for a long time. Also, aside from the obvious AV chat systems (eg: Jitsi. Zoom, etc.) 'cloud-gaming' platforms such as Google Stadia and Shadow use it. I've been monitoring and experimenting with webRTC

There's a part of a mission in Medal of Honor (recent VR version) where you're trying to make your way up Omaha Beach in WWII. The way it's done is very good, and really seems to drive home to the player just how utterly harr

Definitely. I'm about half way through 'Medal of Honor' on the Quest 2 and I've never really been in to war games (or movies) at all. But I've been having an absolutely great time doing the various missions - and tr

As someone who writes plugins for our Wordpress-based 'headless' CMS for our authors to use (the front-end is all Angular 9+), the biggest gripes I found with the Gutenberg blocks editor was the need to learn some React to build t

Weighing in at a 170Gb download, the recent (and hugely enjoyable) VR game Medal of Honor : Above and Beyond seems to be a vast amount of cutscenes.

Ahh NNTP. Those were indeed the days. As were the killfiles we used, to try and deal with an ever-increasing amount of spammers.

This will likely be their get-out, when it comes to UK data privacy post- actual -Brexit on Jan 1st. (Also probably relates to Google and Facebook moving all UK users to USA Ts & Cs.)

I would only do psychedelics around people I trust completely. Strangers and, as you say, people who just aren't in to it will just raise the likelihood of having a bummer.
