I've often thought that Usenet binaries would be perfect for podcasts.

A lot of adult video using this sort of technology often only bothers with 180°. For obvious reasons. But it does also mean that the files (and video frames) can be a lot smaller/better quality.

Absolutely this. Safari's lack of support for WebRTC is extremely frustrating. And I think has more to do with their app ecosystem/income than any technical hurdle.

Just finished it. It was good. Many methods that I had heard of before and a few that I hadn't. Lots of slides to go through, but thankfully time limits means he blasts through them.

They have said they will be open-sourcing the codebase. But it doesn't appear to up on their Github yet : https://github.com/appdotnet

You're absolutely right. The moment they allowed free accounts was the start of the end. The spam and the noise came. All the things we were trying to avoid. But they just wanted beefier numbers to throw around. I developed quite a fe

I would put money on the legal profession being revolutionised (read: sped up) by machine-learning and AI (read: CPU cycles). The ability to refer to any. case. ever. to provide a potentially watertight argument will be pretty hard to beat.

Mostly hand-coding since ~'94. Also waded through the code-soup created by Dreamweaver for a bit. Thought it might save time having 'the designer' do the layout. It didn't. ;)

just to clarify: I expected HTML (etc.) files. We'd already been through the whole wireframing process. I also requested a responsive design. What I got was as useful as a PDF. Sorry, just kvetching on Sketching. I just felt it was a

I've never really understood why people use Sketch. I recently worked on a project where I had asked for some basic vanilla templates of a mobile site from the designers and was sent a huge Sketch file. It was utterly useless and I had

Exactly this. I've been doing this for over a decade now for all the same reasons. When I chose to work 'on the internet' back in about '94, I did it so I could work for "anyone, anywhere, anywhen". I've a

After seeing the Spinor 'belt' animations on that page, something in my gut is screaming at me that there's some great use for this phenomenon in EMF power generation.

Re: GUI 'downside' - They mention a 'JSON API' to interact with libhb, though I have yet to find it in the docs.

Handbrake uses ffmpeg behind the scenes and adds a nice GUI and many DVD related features. Ffmpeg is a dark art to many. The JSON API to interact with libhb also sounds interesting.

Yes. The new REST API should move everything on. It's turned it into a fairly decent platform which can potentially do a lot more than a CMS.

Exactly. It's like a car manufacturer saying how many miles to the gallon you're going to get, without knowing that you're a terrible driver who never gets out of 2nd gear ;)

Add on the dongles/peripherals you'll need to buy. Don't forget the lack of MagSafe/USB/etc.. I bought a 2nd-hand (from a specialist 2nd store, who test everything) immaculate MacBook Pro 11,5 (Mid-2015) 2.5GHz i7
