So I have been thinking about this for a while - if your product has "plugins" there's only two ways forward: * There's a line of "blessed plugins" that your own company supports, maintains and guarantees, and

You are omitting the second part: "but it would react exactly the way any conscious human would" So the pain would be registered , and reacted to . The only difference is in how the world "feel" is interpreted. For Cha

I am not denying the fact that you feel pain. What I am denying is that there's anything metaphysical about the whole process. The opponents of physicalism like Chalmers start from the axiom that consciousness is, in fact, separated

A philosophical zombie [1] is essentially a mobile, autonomous human body devoid of consciousness. Critically, still giving all of the external cues that it has in fact consciousness. It is supposed to prove that physicalism doesn't wo

My main problem is this: - If (big If) AI actually replaces workers, then we have a problem, because lots of folk lost their jobs - If AI doesn't replace workers, then we have a recession, because a lot of the US economy now sits on to

Yeah, I was considering getting into 3D printing and Bambu was one of the finalists. It's good to have one less brand to think about, makes it a bit easier to decide.

Well "to control" means two different things: "having the ability to modify or interrupt something" and "having the willingness to exert that ability". OP says Google has the first. You are saying Google doesn&

Well that is not my experience. My first task as an intern, decades ago, was performing a useful task for the company that hired me. I did a mediocre job at it and it took me way longer than it would take one of the experienced engineers th

I never tell claude to "go over this bunch of files and do this". I tell it "write a program that goes over this bunch of files and do this". Sometimes "do this" can be invoking another claude instance.
