Agreed on there being access to other encrypted messaging apps. But that doesn't account for "app-fatigue" where people are fed up with getting yet another application (think Zoom, Meet, Slack, Signal, Discord, etc) and thus

+1 on Obsidian. Markdown is super nice to use and as for syncing it's open to BYO solution (it's all just markdown/text files!) or you can pay Obsidian to sync for you.

Saving money is another good reason. IO domains are inflated due to popularity, at least last time I checked.

It's been working for me for my personal accounts! For business/jobs, I use Bitwarden or 1Password. Keepass is not the prettiest but I highly recommend it.

Alphabet is used a lot in economic radio programs as the parent to Google, so it's definitely doing its job in non-tech fields.

Agreed. Ten bucks says they'll sell off Fi within the next 10 years. See Google Domains sell off to Squarespace as a recent example.

We have the Metra electric rail from Millennium station that goes south to University Park. I assume it's possible to electrify the other rails but I figure it's because they're shared with freight that it's harder to sw

Yes. I'm an avid user and it's literally just a passed around commodity at this point. This next owner doesn't sound good for it though I may be mistaken. We need a Bandcamp-like entity or service that isn't for-profit b

I think it's amazing you're starting a new project. You stated two points in your blog post on this project: 1. To push back on Chrome almost-monopoly and 2. As a self-learn project. You'll have to balance the needs between t

I think it's having a general preference over the "original" material. Subs do force you to read and watch so you need to initially train yourself to deal with it, but now I always prefer subs even with my native language bec

I guess an advantage is that it's a competitor to a single Microsoft vertical? So is Notion though and a few others. Competition is healthy.

I've hit a similar wall and one answer to hurdle over is to organize with more people to push for bigger, community wide changes. This can include making your roads safer for biking, getting your local governments to penalize local pol

This is rough for Jitsi / 8x8. Requiring a login puts them at a level of "why not just use Google Meet?" to me unless you go through hoops to self host. I'm down to experiment with self hosting, I just feel that most use
