Not sure where you get your info, but github definitely isn't blocked. And there is a amazon.cn, just no one uses that crap.

AlphaCode is more specialized in programming (competitive programming to be precise) though whilst GPT4 is much more generalized. AlphaCode also tries dozens of solutions for one problem, not sure if GPT4 does this.

Not going to argue whether we are being overpaid or not (I certainly hope we aren't because now I'm getting even crazier compensation than my Amazon days lol). But I think the current layoffs which are putting downward pressures o

When your title is "someone saved the whole company", it definitely is diminishing everyone else's work, at least in the case of AMD. Like someone else mentioned here, Jim Keller always says "team work" and all when

This is my thought as well. Their devs who work on the graphics drivers are heavily underpaid in Canada. As an ex-AMD, I took AMD's offer for 20k less than another software company because I like low level stuff and have always been an

CPU development cycle is definitely longer than 3 years, especially for a big change like that. Zen architecture design certainly started before 2014. So I think it's fair to say that she started around the time AMD became successful.

If it was a failure I wouldn't attribute that to Lisa Su either. Because AMD's success kinda started around the time Lisa Su joined, the products they came out with at the time certainly didn't have much to do with Lisa, tech

I think attributing AMD's current success to any one person is an insult to all the other employees of the company.

Market value is a basis for most modern accounting and finance theory, so there isn't anything outrageous about it, otherwise people would have changed how finance is taught long ago.

But fact is, there are many cases where one investor tries to buy the whole company, the investor has to pay a premium over what the market currently values it at (Musk buying Twitter for example). So the current market price is a good appr

A lot of people will rather own a third of Apple, but the market, thus by extension, most people who actually invest, think that Nvidia is worth a third of Apple, on last Friday at least.

I'd assume there is integration work involved to train on TPU, so some companies would want to stay on NVIDIA. AWS also offers their own training chip instances (Trainium) while also providing NVIDIA instance types (P).

Again not sure if you are talking about dataplane. I met many people there (even many new grad L4s in fact), who are very enthusiastic and passionate about what they do in that team.

Intel had a dwindling lead in single core perf over the past few years, but when AMD came out with Zen 3, AMD actually had a non negligible lead over Intel. But Intel is now winning again with the 12th gen chips. So they are trading blows t

Recently intel compared their flagship mobile chip against AMD saying that they got the best single thread performance ever, using SPEC2017. They even had a SPEC graph showing all the AMD competitions, obviously M1 was not on there. And now
