I don't disagree, but they really are a different beast. Have you used the shorts feature? It's 95% brainrot. Where as you can use youtube intelligently to watch interesting things if you choose to. Obviously you could use regular

You're not alone. 90% of the examples in this thread I could do faster myself. I honestly feel like I live in a different reality reading through it all...

Even if you pick one. First it's prompt driven development, then context driven. Then you should use a detailed spec. But no, now it's better to talk to it like a person/have a conversation. Hold up why are you doing that you

At some point you have to use the new features available to you. That's not really tinfoil, just progress, and how all tech works no.

I'm not saying anything that hasn't been said a thousand times before. But I find it's evident when I'm getting it to do something I consider myself good at. And that's what's worrying to me. I work in DevOps a

Did AI write all these comments? AI is turning me into a conspiracy theorist? I keep seeing AI is like having a team of 3-4 people, or doing the work of 3-4 people type posts everywhere lately like it's some kind of meme. I don't

Can you expand on this? Why are they bad? I don't understand how RPGs would be bad. It's basically group story telling. Stories and imagination are so important for kids. It's how we learn to interpret other peoples perspecti

I'd love to see this. Could the community rally a phone manufacturer with phones at different price points and focus on that? Most projects I've looked at in the past have been as good as dead, or spread across a bunch of outdated

Is my life as easy as my parents. Probably not. But the idea that life is bad is a wild take. But if I spent all my time on social media/reddit/watching the news. I'd be pretty depressed too and think the sky is falling. I fe

The assumption that it will just keep getting better is a big one. Maybe they will. Maybe they wont. If they get better I'll stop complaining. Right now I just don't think they are at the level people claim.

I have a senior that talks like this. Does everything through AI now. Barely writes anything himself. Has 5x'd his productivity. Like having his own team. Thing is his work is awful. The people who review his PRs have to spend 5x the t

Have the released the code for this? Does it work? or are there x number of caviets and excuses. I'm kinda of sick of them (and others) getting a free pass at saying stuff like this.

I don't even know where to start with this. Comparing private companies to roads? This makes no sense right? These companies, like roads never have to turn a profit?

Not that these examples aren't really good. But you only have to spend a small amount of time to find a lot of mistakes.

I probably lean on the sceptical side of the spectrum. I'm not against giving it a go if I can get value out of it but I'm not having the wonderful experience that these people are having. - The asynchronous nature of it slows me

An oracle was expected because that's what everyone kept saying it was or would be. If LLMs were shown and demonstrated realistically people would think they were really neat and find ways to use them. Instead I'm told I have phd™

I worry things will be lost in translation (maybe would have already), Or the LLMs will fill in the gaps with wrong information, like some sort of weird telephone game. That said, I have one ESL on my team who uses LLMs a lot like that and

My experience has been interesting. I have been sending super short, mostly dot point emails since before LLMS. Pre ChatGPT I used to cop a bit of shit about it. Now thought, people love it.

I recall seeing a couple of blog posts lately about docker swarm and how its better now. I can see a few references to it in the latest release notes so I guess it's still getting some love.

It didn't seem to do anything well. And weird quotes like 'I think it one-shotted that too' on something important. What on earth is this. Reading it is like experiencing a bad weird dream.

What would you replace it with? Once an org gets to a certain size, they need something like sharepoint, and would they be any more secure?

Could this just be survivorship bias? How many companies burned money until they died? This isn't some hot take. I'm kinda interested. Surely more companies failed with this model than survived.

The scope of financial services is pretty broad right. And it's not always about the raw data. So much of it seems to be 'how do we tell the story we want to tell with the numbers we have'. I say this as someone who hangs out
