Why would you buy a book on something like GNU Make if you didn't already know what it is and how to (kind of) use it?

(a) Money isn't everything. (b) Over a long time horizon, selling a product is more profitable. EDIT: It's non-trivial to go from consulting to product development as part of the same business. It's often easier to use the mo

I agree. Note that the Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn links are wrong. A bit odd for a company that has been around for 3 years, isn't it? In its current form, I wouldn't trust this one bit. EDIT: I see from an above comment that

This is interesting, but the hours are vastly overestimated, at least compared to similar metrics (e.g. from the deliberate practice and expertise literature): If we figure a 40-hour work week... it wasn't my only activity. Let's

At my last job we used a micro-service architecture on AWS (EC2 and RDS). Using Ansible playbooks for various types of servers and roles for each service, we created a new server instance every deploy. All servers were running FreeBSD and u

Have you ever worked at a remote company? If so, the benefits for group chat solution would be obvious. On the other hand, you could just use IRC (IRCCloud is $5/month and has support for embedded gists etc) and a private chat server.
