Not really, with current technology such a system would be astronomically expensive (~trillions of usd to build the laser). This paper is from 2021 which is right about when the breakthrough starshot program ended.

If this holds to be true, this will absolutely be the key to this all. Absolutely incredible that she was able to get this paper out so quickly, and with such a critical insight to the problem at that! The paper also has this absolute gold

Just in case anyone else was confused, 'popcorn polymer' refers to a popcorn-like porous polymer that can form in petrochemical processing, not a polymer that forms during popcorn production. I was assuming it was something simila

A true classic, I can't say that this is what got me into semiconductor physics but I also can't say that it was not what I based my understanding of semiconductor physics on for many years...

A very interesting read, which describes how for ~50 years the community was lead astray by a seemingly simple oversight: studying dead animals instead of living ones! >Charles Darwin theorized that monkeys had the vocal anatomy needed f

The link seems to be down, but from what I can gather this is linking to a forum post from 2021 where a user (possibly working on bricklink?) was asking for help. Presumably there was a more recent post since then, but I can't find it.

Clearly you should have compromised and hacksaw'ed out the usb jack + ftdi region of the board, thus satisfying both your desire to have something jankey and compact. You would even get free activity LEDs!
