Thanks! > (because they're staying on your machine). What's the advantage over exporting my Chrome Bookmarks as HTML?

Thanks! What versions are you working on? What do I generally need to use this? A web browser? Git? Github? A Markdown Linux editor? I would love some further explanation!

Doesn't any distro do the job on which you can install proprietary graphic drivers and Steam?

I, for instance, use https://hackmd.io/ to quickly create a note and share it with other collaborators. This is very useful.

That is exactly my question if there is a way to schedule offline actions (such as voting) and then release them when online again.

I don't know. It just doesn't. If I vote offline, go online and then refresh the page, I can see that it did not count the votes.

If I really feel a connection (hard to describe) to a project, or to its people, I do not mind the money and do it for free.

No, I am technically not skilled enough to do that. :-(

Thank you for your explanation. In this case, I will stick to the Chrome extension mentioned in my first comment here which allows easier integration into reading online articles. :-)

For me, it does not work in Chrome. The votes are not shown is counted if I reload HN.

Can you integrate it into your web browser to read aloud online articles?

Emacs and VIM are probably those two software pieces that to me look like from another era that I have not lived through and thus cannot get my head around.

For me, Facebook is the new yellow pages telephone book that contains all addresses to people I may want to contact. That's about it. I do not see any other value in Facebook.

For me, the solutions are bookmarks. I keep a folder "Daily". Several times a day, I open all bookmarks inside that folder and go through the opened tabs one by one. Moreover, I unsubscribed from any kind of impersonal email.

Open source does not depend on financial rewards but emotional ones. Thus, I can somewhat relate why people become very emotional about software.

The sad fact is that even these devastating developments do not make us change systemically to the extent required to counterfeit them.

Good point. Who says with the current developments, we have more than 100 years? :-)

There is nothing wrong with quitting, relaxing and even doing nothing. It is only in the perception of society that these activities are of lesser importance but they do not have to be yours.

The underlying assumption here is that technological development alone will not help us overcome the challenges of this millennium.
