Right!? Just because several people have been unable to exploit this stack overflow in a week, doesn't prove the flaw is not exploitable.

A rather niche question: The blog says Turbopack is fast thanks to using Turbo, a library for incremental memoization. I wonder how Turbo tcompares to Salsa, the latter which was developed in tandem with rust-analyzer.

Ten or fifteen years ago, I remember trying to run a demo version of Maple V. This version of the app, maybe from 1995, was old enough to be in a.out format. Unfortunately I struggled to run it, because libc was in ELF format, not a.out. St

Quite. Proprietary source available projects are 'meh'. In the past few years, it seems several notable company-backed projects have switched from the Apache licence, to some proprietary licence. I'd much prefer if instead th

To be fair, it's been that way for a long time. VB6 (and VB5) compiled to machine code, unlike earlier versions which were criticised for interpreting bytecode ("P-code"). Now, VB required some runtime dlls, namely msvbvm60.d

It feels incredibly anticompetitive they were able to bundle Prime Video with Prime Delivery. Amazon have significant market power in online commerce, and for them to use that muscle into online video is ridiculous.

What’s frustrating is Visual Studio already has advantages over VS Code: the WinForms designers, XAML designers for WPF and WinUI. Microsoft don’t need to turn the VS Code C# plugin proprietary, to give Visual Studio an edge.
