For that real solution you need to have a manager who approves spending time on removing unused cruft. Otherwise you'll end up smuggling refactoring inside other tasks, which is terrible for quality control.

With all recent Metaverse stuff, it seems that Neal Stephenson is public domain now. So many things on the Internet are based on Snow Crash and Diamond Age that maybe it's time to move to different book now.

I used to have a co-worker exactly like you describe. He was great for consulting business: the clients liked him him so much that they hired two additional consultants. One to fix everything that he broke and another to do the job he was s

I guess they could adjust the generator somehow, but the response would have to be really immediate. I think I could adjust to something that feels like rubber band instead of chain, but varying speed over pedal stroke sounds bad. Yes, I kn

FWIW, I'm reading this on an early 2013 MBP. I think it would still have years of use in it, but new MacOS versions don't support it any more and I have this gut feeling that Linux maintainers aren't okay with the idea of sup

Yes, music.stackexchange is pretty bad. Did you find any of the parts where someone writes that the classical teaching style is for training professional musicians or at least developed in the time when it was?

In music there's also the stubborn belief that anyone who's older than 8 is too old to learn, and the idea that the goal of music lessons is to train professional musicians and anyone over 8 is not going to be ready at college age
