Bingo. They aren't paying advertised rates. Google will have margin but not as much as usual. Snap also has google by the balls here. What if snap comes out with a statement saying Gcp sucks and they're moving to aws?

Thinking he has early onset. From my medical opinion. Would explain how he can contradict himself in the same interview. All those years in NYC taking their toll.

That is my feeling as well. I walk past the Microsoft store and look at the slick surface hardware and daydream about it being a good device and me using it, then I remember the many years of windows pain that I suffered. I keep walking.

Are they really 1300/option? That'd mean you'd need a whole lotta cash to buy those. Great to hear about the growth! Edit: not trying to second guess you I'm more shocked that options that high exist. Seems like it'

Would love to see what others more experienced have to say. The two considerations I'd have myself are 1) do I have enough cash to actually buy those ($1300 is a steep strike price) and 2) is the company still growing fast and is that

Is it just me, or is it damn near impossible to not make fun of everything Trump does or says. Every time I see an article about him I feel like he's a real life Forest Gump. Hes just doing whatever, and no matter how dumb or idiotic i

I would have thought the same until stuxnet. Otners know the story better than I but if memory serves, the Iranian nuclear facilities had systems that were not connected to the internet compromised. No internet connection for sure reduces t

My daughter does the same. And I'm glad because she also likes my little ponies, and for some reason there are a lot of adult my little pony spinoff videos. I saw her watching one where the ponies were making out (restricted mode on).

I think the world would be a much better place if we exchanged "everyone learns to code" with "everyone learns safe and secure computer practices". That doesn't have the same ring to it but it's more important.

There's always the simpler explanation to why Google is getting traction: - Price/performance is better in some/many cases for VMs - It's easy(ier?) to use - Clear technical advantage with some of their other services e.

I'm curious how you would use this. What files would you share and with who? I'm so used to sharing via cloud services and chat apps that I really don't know who or what I'd use this with. Just curious what situations th

Thanks for the recommendations! I will investigate further. I'm amazed at how powerful these activities can be. And I'm glad that I gave them a chance. It is really easy to be dismissive of stuff like this. Having an open mind, gi

I've been going through challenging times and have been confronted with somethings I've never had to deal with before. There are a couple of things that trigger anxiety in me on a daily basis now. I wake up in the middle of the ni

This approach makes a lot of sense. The only other scenario where I think it makes to go microservice is when development progress is impacted by organizational structure. That seems to be a huge reason why corps like amazon broke things do

That's a best case scenario. What it could do is make military intervention an even easier decision. The loss of human life is a deterrent to engaging in war. If one side isn't concerned about that, wouldn't they be more incl

Taken alone it could be viewed as light hearted. Taken in the context of their past behavior it's another example of arrogance. Look at what Ballmer said about Google and Eric Sshmidt in the early days. Look at their complete mismanage

The perception of MSFT in the IT Industy has been improving. Seems like it has been largely due to their open source and innovation activities. I have recently competed against MSFT in the field. And I can assure you they are up to their ol

This is the most concerning thing to me. The Multi-AZ, redundant setup is worthless if the ELB can't do its job properly. I've seen some funky behavior from the ELBs when it comes to instance state. They really need to make this b

I realize that some systems may need to have all of their servers located close together in a single AZ. But barring that, if this took you offline, you should really consider spreading your instances across AZs. It's so easy there
