The problem is that you have to trust Lineage's (just an example) developers and release process. If you want Google Apps installed you need to trust another 3rd party like http://opengapps.org or https://microg.

Just like Chrome extensions that get removed without warning and you can't even get an answer of why and how you can fix the situation (submitting it for manual review fixes nothing).

Really? On a discussion about a desktop OS? There are so many things going through my mind after your comment that I can't even start typing. Branch limit reached. I'm using Android and I have the same concerns about it. I gave my

For me it's way shittier to have an insecure phone. I would even install a Clippy launcher on Android if I could have the latest security and feature updates the same day that they are released (without changing phones every year or us

In my opinion it was never truly off even when the label pointed to that. Explorer, Photos, Cortana and everything else is constantly making networks calls for "reasons". For me "Off" means it will only call home to chec

You can still activate W10 using 7/8 keys and most of the other methods still work. At least that's what people say on /r/windows10.

Since everything and everyone is collecting user data, it would be fair to leave the starter/home/"cloud" editions as it is. But damn, if I'm going to pay for my OS I want ZERO data collection and the option to neve

In my experience it's better to wait for everything to be digested and released in text format. There's just too much bullshit to cut through. Live events are a world of cringe that I can't handle anymore. Last one I watched

The problem I have with Glasswire and similar products is that you can make calls through other Windows APIs (I don't know if that's the correct term for this but you get the idea). Especially if you run it as administrator. That
