Your implication is that Google is not treating Fuchsia as a 'throw it over the wall' project, but as one with community participation. How many of your colleagues are from outside of Google? How often do you work with non-googler

There's 600+ patches needed to build chrome on BSD, and upstream is constantly churning, which means they need maintenance. Upstream refuses to import anything related to BSD support, so they need to be maintained out of tree. And this

Wayland (and X11, and any other modern display system) will absolutely fry non-multisync monitors. Those were common in 1996. Hardware has just improved enough that we don't need to care. This isn't wayland vs X11. X11 is terrible

Of course vi is graphical. Vi is literally short for 'visual': it was created as a graphical extension of ex. The mark of a command line is a stream of commands and responses, not whether it does ascii art to emulate graphics.

Great. So, can you hook in to a running browser the next time a tab crashes, fix it, and continue viewing the website, with no prior setup? How?

Yes, that's the meaning of no special cases*: it means you don't add special cases. But this is why plan 9 has 40-odd syscalls instead of 500, and tools can be interposed, redirected, and distributed between machines. I don'

Channels are not IPC -- they're a libthread API that stays within a shared-memory thread group. There are few magic kernel devices that don't act like 9p, like '#s' which implements fd passing on a single node. And the V
