> The article's core point is literally a contradiction to this. No. The article's core point is that machine code maps poorly to what the CPU does. Modern CPUs expose no low level access to the way they execute code.

What are you adding gradually, specifically? Like, a concrete example that names a namespace you may want to use. I'm trying to figure out what problems a half sandbox solves, and a vague "I just want to enable some capabilities&q

And how is it mixing and matching these APIs? Given that there's an OCI-compatible runner for jails (runj, compatible with runc -- which is what docker uses to start containers), it seems to me that Docker isn't in actually using

I don't get it. How are people using this flexibility to get things done in practice, and what uses aren't allowed by the jail model?

How are you finding Idris? or are you more in the Agda camp? If you want to definitely rule out as many errors as possible, dependently typed languages are the state of the art, allowing you to write a sort function that will fail to compil

The only thing I really want in C is the gradual removal of undefined behavior. Edit: C isn't perfect, but the biggest usability issues is the subtle footguns from UB. Everything else pales in comparison.

The correctness of git is based on hashes not colliding within a repo . This just means GitHub may need to give up on a cost saving measure like dedup between forks It's a GitHub issue, not a git issue.

For someone to be able to break your repo using sha1 collisions, they need to be able to commit to it. If you don't trust someone, don't let them commit to your repo. > Were they so in love with the performance of C/C++ b
