I was excited to read about filtering within logging pipelines, however the article left me bitterly dissapointed.

> I’m showing this email here on my blog as an insight into what it is to be Daniel, author of curl The only insight I can draw from this is that “Daniel, author of curl” has to sometimes ignore unwanted emails?

Some of these emails are from disturbed and/or desperate people. [1] and [2] for example. I’m all for having a smirk at some clueless people now and again, but some of these strike a darker tone and it’s a bit unsettling. At the end of

Are you saying that your neighbours literally tried to have you killed, you have strong evidence of this, and the police did nothing? Because… that’s just not really true, is it. It’s hyperbole, like most of your comment. Not to say that

This doesn’t answer the question, and doesn’t really help with hot reloading at all outside of the most basic examples.

I have and it’s exactly the same thing. No details, no source, unreproducible benchmarks and just ~75 people downloading the latest release[1]. There might be a good idea in there but just shoving it into a black hole is a shame. Oh well. 1

This doesn’t seem very interesting: there’s no source, the benchmarks are self reported, and the details in the forum post (??) are light at best. It’s basically just a forum post with a self-signed .exe download…

It’s a given that people on HN know how the internet works. It’s also (usually) a given on HN to not post unsubstantiated and pretty controversial claims with no additional interesting or intellectually stimulating context for people for pe

You said most people have a stake, and I asked you to be specific about that. And you didn’t. When you say most people have a stake, are you saying 51% or above of people have a stake? Can you quantify that to clarify your point? 40% of Ame

Can you quantify “most” please? Specifically what do you mean that “most” labour has a stake in the system? Which companies have a labour majority stake, stocks or otherwise? Isn’t labour having most of a stake a more communist leaning syst

By this logic a car crash isn’t binary either, because the car could have always set on fire, or exploded, or fallen into a spontaneous black hole etc. It’s still a car crash regardless of the magnitude, and a collapse is still a collapse i

If you understand why it’s not the same as receiving an email, and why an owner of a resource is not obliged to allow people to use that resource for free and for their profit, then why make this thread to begin with?
