It's the censorship lift that shocks (as in 'surprises', not 'offends') people, not the film itself.

The market is a solution to a problem (or perhaps a set of problems). In the example of in the grandparent's post, that solution does not adequately deal with the problem at hand. This makes it a bad solution . Even if we can't think of a

Honestly, I'm surprised so many of Kickstarter's top projects shipped at all . I'm not being snarky here. 68% is a much better success rate than I'd expected, even taking into account that these are their most famous (and therefore, likely

Color.Bleu will give a compiler error. "Bleu" will not. And is "White" a valid color? No idea, need to check the docs. Try Color.White and the compiler or editor will tell you.

Mutually exclusive means that either one, xor the other can be true, but not both. That is not the case here. You can be OK with running someone's code and with sending them your personal information.

> Based on current engine failure rate, that's (17/18)^9 + (1/18)^8 + C(9,2) * (1/18)^2 * (17/18)^7 I think the second part of that calculation is incorrect. I'm getting: P(0 engine fail) = (17/18)^9 ~= 0.5978 P(1 engine fail) = (

David Courtwright used a slightly different version of it to describe the Vietnam war: "we were not in Vietnam for 10 years, but for one year 10 times."

I'm a LibreOffice user and it regularly pisses me off. It's not terrible, but it definitely has a lot of sharp corners that I keep hitting. Image placement is my current #1 gripe. It's apsolutely horrific. More generally, it starts up slowl

I would love for this to work, but "like X but open" is not enough. What you need is "better than X and open". I wish I knew how to do "better", but unfortunately, I don't.

Try to capture a stream of video or a screenshot in most operating systems, and the OS declines to do so or produces a blurred or blacked-out display. This really surprised me. I'm right up there with the other tinfoil-hat wearers, but it
