These Redis modules were originally using the AGPL. From what I understand the issue wasn't that they didn't have access to the modifications but that they provided it as a service on AWS which is what Redis Labs also offers.

Guix and GuixSD are definitely interesting. I am currently running Guix on top of Fedora for my desktop and just recently started running GuixSD on my laptop. Probably my favorite feature that I use the most is guix environment which can he

Would it be possible that people are abusing the spam reporting for these email providers? Get a large enough group of people online to sign up for these candidates and mass report these emails as spam.

While a license like MIT gives you the most possible freedoms, it also gives the freedom to derivative works to remove all those freedoms. A copyleft license doesn't grant those kind of freedoms so it can try and protect and keep the f

For my own personal projects I use the GPLv3+ because I want to protect the four freedoms[0] for users of my software. If I want something more permissive I would use the LGPLv3+ but I might start to move away from that and just use the GPL

Makes me wonder if there isn't really one single type of diet that is good for everyone. The best diet for a person might be more meat, more vegetables, or some other food group which is based on many different factors.

Redis Labs was originally using AGPL for their software before they switched to the Commons Clause. It seens companies had no issue using and selling the software. The issue was they didn't want other people to commercialize their soft

There is Mezzano[0], but I am not sure if it has a similar kind of hackability. I believe environments like that are pretty amazing. It is something that is not unique to just lisps either, you see similar features in Smalltalk environments

The twitter post[0] announcing the Commons Clause doesn't help make it clear by saying: > Redis has adopted a new license I've been working on w/ a talented team. The Redis mentioned here. I believe, actually means Redis L

Isn't that what GPL v3 is suppose to cover with what they call "tivoization"? They tried to get the Linux kernel to switch to the GPL v3 but that failed.

So the example you showed with XML uses XPath, what do you think that does? I am sure something similar can be created in python for editing lisp code as easily as this.
