Cliche but the best investment is in yourself. The parents project was a form of this. Doesn't mean they don't also have a percent of portfolio in other asset classes like indexes.

Like getting downvoted on HN for proposing TSLA or Bitcoin as good investments over the past 10 years.

Why will TSLA be 10% of its size? Why can't it 2x and be worth an Amazon?

No one wants to not be on top, but being on top doesn't maximize everyone's happiness or sense of purpose either.

Why? The human species and relatives have organized into heirarchies since their dawn. You start as a child, and go forth and develop your place in the world. If everyone is the same, no one is unique. Different desires lead to different co

Consider the iterated consequences if you don't allow people to admit a transgression, reform, and move on. Such a society ultimately turns into a gaslighting double-down deny-everything debacle, where everything must be proven beyond

I have tried this, and the way you resolve it is by raising your transaction fee. This is done with Replace-By-Fee or Child-Pays-For-Parent transactions.

Hypothetically this could be amortized better by increasing the transactions per block. Just because Bitcoin was first doesn't mean it's the best wrt efficiency. PoW can be competitive with legacy infrastructure with good clearing

If it's a problem in 10, 20 or 40 years, we can deal with it then. The anti-trust tools are there. Also the current LEO satellites de-orbit in 5-10 years, so the concern is moot if Amazon actually gets their stuff together.

What is the objection? Fees are designed to entice miners to include a transaction. If a fee is too low, the miner will include transactions with better incentives. Recording transactions has real economic cost (mining and permanent storage

That's only a consideration when SI is a high relative to available float. As of 1/15 CLOV short interest was 9.11M shares out of 143M shares outstanding (minuscule squeeze risk).

There has to be an end game though, if it's not to put food on the table then what is it? These funds are generally closed to outsiders so its unlikely they are just trying to virtue signal to retail.

Not long ago short sellers were claiming Tesla was in trouble with the DoJ over the Model 3. Ended up a big nothing; we don't know if there is any meat here. https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2018/11/02/tesla
