That's not what I said, but I could have spelled it out. Maybe I should have said... Most Scandinavians I know are direct, and out of all the Nordic people, the Finns are direct ++. But I still stand by what I said. You probably though

That indeed is a good link. If you’re setting yourself up in a consultancy, you don’t usually need start up capital and hence no loans required. Bank accounts and insurance are a requirement however!

I'd say forget about getting "a job" and write your own apps, or do consultancy work where clients engage your company - not you. Though I'd check about you being able to be a company director.

I was diagnosed with CFS, and it turned out to be coeliac disease. I still occasionally run out of spoons, but historically I can often track it down to an accidental contamination event.

Turbo Pascal 3 worked on the Apricot F10 (a similar non-PC MSDOS machine) if my memory serves it was a port of the CP/M version so you just had to tell it what display driver to use (vt100/vt52/adm12 etc)

This. Absolutely this. A good friend used to lament about the data they were entering was of very poor quality. However the skews were somehow magically understood by the consumers of the data or maybe overall the day averaged out over time
