Tar IS seekable, as it was designed especially for tapes. The modern usage of it adds compression, which you have to undo first before doing your archive operations ;) Zip was > tar (and cpio) in that regard because you didn't have

Cassettes were mostly used on 8 bit machines ;) Tape drives were relatively expensive to floppy disks.

I do consultancy too, and I rarely turn my video on. I certainly appreciate that some folk are prone to want video on though. I'm blessed to not have clients like that!

That's pretty the much the same as the green party in the UK 1. No one wants a nuclear reactor in their back yard 2. Making a safe nuclear reactor takes skilled engineers 3. The only country with those skills in europe are in france (

Board support packages very rarely get updated and usually target a very specific kernel version. You move off that kernel version, no BSP, no boot. sad times. This is one reason why you don't get android phones supported past the andr
