Well that his solution to the problem, isn't it? ;) He wants that .5% to 1.5% to go to him instead!

This seems to go a long way to basically say "90% of new businesses/apps/[insert here]" fail. Why yes, we've known this forever. It is why it is risky. :/

Yep. And this is why I have an easy way to separate my car keys from the rest of my keys. I don't hand anyone my house keys, ever.

I suspect it'd be easier to just move your global, internet operation out of Spain completely with no legal ties for them to sue you with.

I can control what a corporation knows about me and they can't throw me in jail. I'd say its a weeeeee bit of a difference. Admittedly, the average person may not be able to do the first part...so its probably something that shoul

Fair enough but by bringing it up in a thread about someone with a botnet screwing people over...its pretty reasonable to conclude that is what you meant.

I haven't used CoreOS, mainly just watched, but have you tried deploying a Galera cluster at a scale of 5 containers? That is more likely what they'd have in mind than a single MySQL master container.

There is a difference between actively and maliciously targeting adwords to destroy people's money and healthy competition b/t pools of capital/businesses. You are engaging in false equivalence.

I asked you how you would architect something that needs 1M writes/sec if you weren't using Cassandra. Ignore the fact that netflix is making this into a single cluster. I'm not saying I'd do it by myself. I'm sayin

How would you build out at a metrics cluster that needs 1M writes/sec? 285 nodes that are easily automated to create/destroy/monitor doesn't seem like a management pain to me, personally. Just depends if you have the wri

I do wonder since he is using a gmail account if it is a honeytrap. That seems like a very, very dumb thing to do if one's objective is to defraud Google. His entire client list will be accessible through them.

The local authorities don't really provide roadblocks in many, many cities. Its FUD. I linked to a tiny ISP lower that provides gigabit to like 200 city blocks. The problem is lack of desire to invest because its expensive and incumben

My point was natural monopolies do exist w/o government intervention so its kinda BS to claim capitalism doens't create them.

Software patents aren't what created Microsoft or its monopoly. Apple, Linux both survived just fine. They just didn't control a ridiculous percentage of the market.

The ISPs would still need to pay for the interconnects b/t the municipal ISP and, say, Level 3. So performance, etc. as well. The way I envision it working is: FTTH is the municipal and they hook it up to a single interchange. From the

That is capitalism tho. It doesn't make sense for rational actors to build out more than 1-2 separate sets of fiber in a given area. We need municipal fiber that gets leased to ISPs :/

Yep, welcome to capitalism. When you need to raise your profits to justify high prices for shareholders, it is a race to the bottom to see with how little you can spend for market competitive pricing.
