Everything since CD audio has been either the same quality or worse. Increasing the sampling rate does nothing but encode ultrasonics which are at best inaudible and at worst introduce additional harmonic distortion into the audible frequen

The spec isn't proprietary, you can download all 482 pages of it right here[1]. It's just that a USB controller needs firmware and none of the vendors making USB3 controller chips have open sourced their firmware. Most chip vendor

The biggest practical advantage I have found is that Linux has dramatically better filesystem I/O performance. Like, a C++ project that builds in 20 seconds on Linux takes several minutes to build on the same hardware in Windows.

I think most libraries offering this are doing it through Hoopla. It works fine though you can only play them in a browser and the video quality is roughly at the level of a DVD.

At least newer diesels are a lot better about particulates than the older ones, the EPA has mandated particulate filters since 2007 and they reduce them by ~85-95%. http://www.meca.org/regulation/us-epa-20072010-heavydu

They could require a paid Apple developer account to sign MacOS binaries just like they do with iOS (with the exception of those certs that expire after a week). I think they would be crazy to do it and don't really expect them to anyt
