You method would require that pass everytime a password is fetched or generated. Similar to the UAC confimation on Windows. Remember how annoying that was, everyone turned it off.

Sure, what you described actually weights exactly 0 pounds. But in general the volume of a sphere grows with the cube in regards to the radius, thus gaining an inch of height could add a lot of mass. How much depends on the object shape.

Precomputation takes O(n^2) complexity so this is great for static environments like Starcraft maps where the units don't evaluate units in their path finding.
