There may be enthusiast mechanical keyboards that use faster ports. My keyboard uses an Elite-C MCU in each half. I've heard some more modern stuff is switching to ARM for the MCUs. Here's a keyboard that uses an ARM MCU: https:&

This looks very cool. I use shell aliases heavily on all my devices and try to avoid typing out the same one-liners more than once or twice when possible.

With the M1 line being ARM, they are now offering something unique, but in the past I would basically agree with you. I'm probably going to buy my first MacBook in the near future just to have an ARM laptop running GNU/Linux that&

I would hesitate to trust a whole brand. This is an area where almost everything is bad. Check for something with OpenWrt support and then get that exact supported model. I do the same with phones and LineageOS support. The Netgear R6220 ha

It helps if you use bitmap fonts. They look crisp and clean at small sizes and lower resolutions. They make other fonts look blurry by comparison. The trend of scaling seems to largely be because of people using those blurry fonts. I'd

On Android it specifically refers to installing something on your phone via your computer with the adb sideload command. If you just download and install an apk on the phone itself, it's not sideloading. For this reason it wouldn'

I find shell scripts and one liners very accessible and intuitive, while I basically can't do anything with a real programming language besides calculating numbers or printing text to the screen.

Is that perhaps the syntax highlighting telling you that you haven't typed a valid command yet? I haven't used fish (I use zsh), but that's my guess. So, I guess try disabling syntax highlighting or changing colors related to

ZZ and ZQ are both very nice. On the note of saving/quitting and things not being mentioned enough, I only recently learned about :up to only save the file if there were actually changes (probably short for "update). Saves some ti

It's worth noting that on IRC it refers to someone being an op, and that it's not used for pinging people. (I sometimes see people who are used to other chats put the @ at the start of an IRC message)

3D free software game developed in modern times and not a fork of Quake 1 or 3 is what makes this a big deal to me. Rust is a neutral point to me, but it does probably make it harder to run on other architectures. The biggest negative to me

Maybe I'm being pedantic, but CDs are higher quality than MP3 usually. You can rip losslessly to WAV or FLAC and preserve the original. MP3 is lossy and will be a lesser version.

The noto emoji font is usually all you need, just having it installed is often enough for them to show if your terminal emulator supports fallback fonts (I think st doesn't, but most do). I support the idea of a NO_EMOJI env var anyway

I'm aware of being able to join IRC from XMPP, but the thing that still makes IRC the best for me is actually the client selection. irssi is just leagues ahead of Gajim, Dino, Profanity, Conversations, Element, Nheko, FluffyChat, etc.
