I strongly prefer that with XMPP I can disable the encryption when it breaks to tell my friend I'm trapped under a boulder and bleeding out. With Matrix our chat is encrypted, I can't turn it off ever, if it stops working I can&#x

Used to be you saved and shared screenshots by pasting into Paint and saving it. Printscreen didn't save a file and only some programs (Skype) let you paste the screenshot directly from the clipboard. That's how I remember it anyw

With QMK you can have mousekeys including scrolling in another layer. IME mostly useful when you can't use j/k or pgdn/pgup or similar.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. The biggest hits to typing speed are usually typos or fixing typos. If you slow down and try harder to hit the right key the first time, I'd bet you can hit 20wpm at least.

>I wonder how long it would take to get to 75WPM on graphite. A decade? Assuming you can already type that fast, 3-6 months at most I would think (with daily practice / full immersion). My best speed with QWERTY was 160wpm and I was

If you care about the ergonomics of the thumb cluster, the Ergodox and others like it have a bad one. It sticks out too far. For a more modern and ergonomic thumb cluster, check out Pinky4, Iris, or Corne. I've been using a Pinky4 for

I believe it's so people who use a 60% or 80% keyboard can order 20-40 fewer than those with a 100% keyboard.

PinePhone will boot off a microSD before the internal flash, so you could have a clean OS on the card and your real one on the flash. The SD card is under the back cover with the battery and SIM, so chances are they won't think to try

It's funny that this keeps happening to them. More recently one of their wallpapers had some sort of hippo with hair all over that looked like hairy balls[1]. I wonder how many people look at the wallpapers before they get the okay. [1

Most stuff is fully rewritten/replaced. KDE and GNOME (maybe XFCE) are special cases. Sway acting as the Wayland version of i3wm is more what I expect. There was an early project to replicate AwesomeWM called WayCooler, but after a few

Some things are worth an alias, or a script, some things aren't quite worth either but you still wanna run them again in the future. I think that's where history helps. Awkward niche one-liners. Also sometimes you do something for

Interesting you think it's less important for "FOSS projects". I would think the chat should be free software especially in those circles. IRC, XMPP, Matrix, email. Lots of options that have been around for decades now.

Cherry AMP was great until they started putting sucralose in it. It was close to how Mtn Dew Game Fuel used to taste before they... started putting sucralose in that.
