It’s reasonable but then you learn that poor Asians do well. They inherit nothing, go to poor schools, but then do well.

MSFT stock up 100x since then. Edit: I guess this was your point, criticism was either heeded or was off.

I’m pro growth and I don’t see any reason why that has to be done badly. Eg I also care about the environment being healthy, but think we can switch to solar and be smarter about other sorts of pollution etc and achieve both ends.

And yet the comments on the thread I saw were quite useful — many from Russian speaking people confirming that the same news was being shown in Russia, etc.

My hot take is that there’s a lot of wonderful things about Europe but the economy is not one of them. And that’s by choice.

From the lens of economics, EU doesn’t seem to be doing great either. https://www.ft.com/content/80ace07f-3acb-40cb-9960-8bb4a44fd...

I have heard the bay area bart is in danger of going insolvent. It is both developed and under utilized. Given widespread safety and cleanliness concerns, I do wonder if a form of first class would raise use. However I imagine that’s a n

Hot take: I’d be open to laws around opt in vs opt out for what is considered available for training data.

On coffee shops: I personally find no noise or a lot of noise works for me… it’s the modest noise that kills me… when I can overhear one particular conversation I just can’t not listen.

I see thanks. I guess, hearing about other famous hard problems, I am used to seeing comments like: “if problem X could be solved it would unlock lots of other important areas of math.” Wondering if this tiling area draws attention for it

Good point. But still room for improvement on other end imho. Only way to succeed in some of these spaces is rapid growth at loss via massive venture funding. Doesn’t seem healthy.
