I don't know about that. I am located in Toronto, Canada and would be interested in a UX design/front end development telecommuting job that paid $120k+. However, nobody really wants to hire somebody that they can't watch. In the past I hav

I just don't believe this. Companies are just not willing to pay for it. I can easily get a 50% increase in pay as a developer. If they really had a hard time hiring designers they would give salaries comparable to developers. Personally I

We already have forking, both for the current version of your design and previous versions. We cover it on the community tour page. Diffing has been talked about internally and it would be pretty awesome.

There is such a thing as too much contrast when it comes to text. When typesetting it is advisable to never use pure black for text because it simmers on the page. I normally design the base text on the page to have between 15% and 30% brig

Oh man, Camino uses Gecko 1.9.0 which is the same version Firefox 3.0 shipped with (but the buttons work in firefox 3.0). I traced down the bug to a conflict in my blog's css with the buttons. Somewhere they are inheriting styles that break

Is this still the case? If so I will get it fixed. I didn't do any testing yet because the blog post was not meant to go live yet.

Zooming as it is is a broken mechanic. Google Docs already attempts to detect if you are zooming in and tells you to zoom to 100% or things will be broken. I wish there was a reliable way to detect if the user is at a weird zoom level.

Don't ever use illustrator for web design. Monitors uses pixels and you need to work in pixels if you expect to do great work. Use Illustrator when you are illustrating.

20-40 hours per page is ridiculously high. They must be incredibly slow and it makes my doubt their design skill. To design a web app is incredibly easy because there is no marketing element to it--it is all about functionality. If you are

Just because people are downloading a ton of illegal content right now doesn't mean 5 years from now the average person won't be downloading it legally. This is how progress is made.

The idea that 2% of users using 20% of the bandwidth is hurting "normal" people is a PR move that is going to do great harm to future innovation. The way I see it those 2% of users are early adopters and a couple of years from now "normal p
