If you think writing like an orc is "audience appropriate", you're mistaken. Here's a preliminary release on the original study: http://www.thelancet.com/pdfs/journals/lanonc/PIIS1470-2045(

Newegg is on Commission Junction, you don't have to put anything up front. Initiate a business relationship through there and in a few months ask to get off CJ and propose your own terms.

Nope. There is no way I would've bought into that "you can't keep the evidence" bullshit, I don't care if you're the Pope. I think Gavin maybe got a little starry eyed thinking he was talking to the bitcoin god

Yes. The need for indices is easier to identify on NoSQL: if you want to grab a key in O(1) then you need an index. However this simplicity comes not from eschewing SQL but because the queries you typically demand are simpler.

Same article on the FT: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/af23e3ea-07f1-11e6-b6d3-746f8e9cdd... James Comey, director of the FBI, said on Thursday that the cost was “worth it”, but added that an accommodation needed

You're using an "at equilibrium" argument. The things you described might take 10-20+ years. Between lenders tightening up and college prices coming down, you have a generation of poor people that can't go to college.

My point was "this piece of software surely has more bugs than Mathematica". What's your point? That because they both have a non-zero number of bugs we should be equally suspicious of both?

Mathematica is a very complex piece of software. As an ex-physicist there's no way I would trust this completely unknown open source alternative.

Symbolic manipulation. That's the only reason Mathematica is used in academia. If you're in the academia and want to do numeric computations you would use something like R or Matlab.
