Compatibility. Linux binaries need to be recompiled on BSD. BSD and Docker or Podman is probably not a thing. Working with containers and Kubernetes means I need to compile about 100 Go projects. Uhh.. just no. I have better things to do w

What did you need to do to the Docker image to make it run in k8s? I'm using the stock image on k8s just fine.

I bought the 5 year sub and completely agree on the desktop app clunkiness, it's been so many years but there's still no right click menus. I use it once in awhile and still find myself trying to right click > archive or right

You could put gitea in a container and limit it's resources, what benefits does a bare metal install give you?

You don't have to even ask, it's Apple, they aren't going to let you replace jack shit in any of their devices easily.

Apple is hardly the first laptop manufacturer that built a arm based laptop. Microsoft did it before them with the Surface back in 2012. However it's not going to be as popular as Apple's laptop. https://en.m.wikipedia.

It took 2-3 minutes to generate a SSH key... I would consider that slow. I still use it almost every day though, I was able to get kubectl to work!

This. Termux is a great AIO app for a lot of apps available on the Play Store. I use it for running kubectl, ssh, scp, rclone, rsync, etc.. if there is a ARM binary it will most likely run in Termux.
