If you don't need it to be a .doc, Google chrome allows you to save webpages to PDFs just by going to file > print[0] and it works quite well. The Evernote clipper worked pretty well IIRC, but either way you will have to edit the ma

All I could think about was how funny this would be if it turned out to be a recruiting firm gathering user details and the lawsuit was fake.

Actually, the most annoying was on google because it would lock up occasionally and if I typed a new query in, i would have to reload. I was using ublock origin on mozilla firefox. I just upgraded to El Capitan and changed some settings so

This was really interesting. Thanks. His talk was fascinating and really opened my eyes to a lot of stuff. I was a bit foggy on some of the details of course, but imagine a culture where you only took what you needed. I thought that bit was

This. I used game center as an example. Just removing unused languages saved me over a GB. I also stopped a bunch of annoying background stuff from using the cpu, which is nice, because I need it to do shit like compute for me. While the at

Thank you. Many people have been quite rude about this, and frankly, I expected better. 1) woz fought jobs on user mods on the apple 2, and released a post a while back about switching bck to linux. I used game center as an example. Of cour

Thanks, this was a helpful response unlike the SOish answers which I found unneccesarily hostile. If you see my comment below I was fairly protected. I will look into those suggestions. Do to the differences and additions in caputan little

I was simply asking if this was a GM issue or something else. I needed access to my filesystem to make some changes and was providing a bit of feedback to others upgrading. I didn't think this was stack overflow. I had internet disable

Danny Hillis gives a great talk called "The Internet could crash. We need a Plan B"[0]. In the talk, outside of security, he was talking about the culture of the early internet. It was really interesting, he said he still has a ph

Wow. I thought about shorting GM, after the VW thing broke. I figured they would have the highest incentive to cheat and everyone is about to get caught.

I am sure. However, like evernote the difficult problem they solved several years ago is no longer difficult, but quite easy and become much more cheap. Couple that with security and privacy risks and the value proposition changes quickly.

Evernote is a note taking app in 2015. While slack and hipchat are somewhat iconoclastic, they have network affects and boost productivity. Evernote is competing with apple notes, google docs, whatever microsoft has, every password keeping
