I'm also a user of pass, but the fact that all the metadata is in clear is a big beef for me. How do you solve that, if at all?

I've found that reading the source code (or at least the general structure) of kakoune[1] really helped me understand editors. I think it's a very high quality c++ codebase for a relatively complex editor. [1] https://g

Maybe in software, but I doubt that the efficiency of motors in drones or cars would change. It's not like there are abstractions to chase in hardware, are there?

With that example in particular, fish by default does not mess up file names containing spaces, as opposed to bash which treats them a separate files. I'm not sure why, but it's certainly useful.
