They could make more money if they offered fantasy rides, like a steampunk themed adventure. It's all right there. . . .

F that. If it's really that much of a problem, wouldn't it be easier just to buy a used laptop from craigslist, or an asus ee? That way you're guarnteed to not have anything on there that you don't want to be seen, rather than worry you mis

The download client stinks. I have OS.X Tiger, and the client farked on me, and doesn't allow me to do anything else to it. No idea how to fix it. It took me 3 days to get accepted into program. That isn't such a big deal, except there was

$1000 for a laptop is not cheap. $400 for a laptop is cheap. At that price, you could literally buy a macbook and just install ubuntu on it if you wish. I personally have a macbook pro, too, but just couldn't be bothered to add ubuntu to it

Trying to write an ms exchange killer. So many languages I want to learn, and never seem to have any time to start. (Right now on the list: Ada, Erlang, Python, Ocaml, C/C#/D/ObjC, Effiel, Smalltalk). Was trying to do the android competitio

I rather like your site, but it seems very confusing. Like I can't find any hearts for me to click on to say that I like it. (I'm on Opera 9.5 beta.) Also, there are songs embedded everywhere, and I'm not sure why, or what all the links mea

Stock charts, by itself without a history of what is being traded, is a bunch of hooey. Data without context is worthless. Even though 2 different charts look the same, the reasons may be different. One could be because a company is doing s

Yeah, apparently, according to wikipedia, Time Warner is thinking about splitting 'AOL internet access and adversting businesses into two, with the possibility of later selling the internet access division.' So they haven't done it yet.

No, it's not a unique situation. Or rather, it's only unique in one way: if failure occurs, it occurs loudly, spectacularly, and in front of millions of people. The article itself mentioned the Denver airport, where billions of dollars stil

Don't even try it. It (Xcode) depends on some of the new libraries in Leopard. I've been trying. Looks like I have to get X.5 this weekend. Sigh. (Always try to be a year behind on major changes like OSs because of bugs and fixes.)

Wait, did they lose all the money they put into the fund? They tried something, it didn't exactly work the first time around, and are probably making some changes to try again. (2nd? 3rd?). Why is this a bad thing?

Why level off? Is it because of resources (lack of) that'll limit growth, or something about the market you're in? That may have a factor in the price you could ask for.

I don't know what to think about this. Isn't this basically giving up the ghost on Solaris? But on the other hand, no matter the underlying OS or hardware, it seems like Sun will be able to take advantage of the situation. Seems like a hedg

Ask for tours. I believe Google gives a tour of their campus, and I'm not sure about CNet (it's further south of San Fran), but I'm sure other companies aren't adverse to tours.

I've noticed a lot of cellphones nowadays don't do a full power down, like televisions, for quick bootups. The solution then is to take out the power source.

That is not a very good idea. If money given by government is tied to test scores, schools have more incentive to let students cheat than otherwise, for the high scores. You'd be trying to sell them something that at the very least, lowers
