In countries where instant SEPA through QR codes are popular that "app to generate this QR code" is your bank app. All of them can do it. The stupid problem here is that as EU was pushing SEPA countries themselves came up with the

That has been the question since the beginning of humans. Maybe computers can help understand better because by now it's pretty clear brains aren't just LLMs.

Also so many developers i know use LLMs for one shoting isolated problems, explainers, discussions and planning. For these even Kimi is pretty great. I don't think every dev will be comfortable just releasing claude on their project.

I think it's really clear what europe should do and it's been for a while. Now insert politics and you get governments mostly captured by US influence thanks to propaganda, lobby, deep ties and european upper class invested in US

To me it seems that in the end main measure is how deep/powerful are hierarchies in a system. How much power has one individual over the other. Many libertarians and liberals believe that it's the freedoms one has that make system

I highly doubt that. It's giant market and with these custom small sites made by third parties you actually want to have client owned hosting and third parties who deploy to that hosting. Clients have learned to separate these otherwis

When somebody comments PR with “Incredible work, Jacob. It is an honor to call you my colleague.” then it's safe to assume it's out of the ordinary contribution. Pretty much falling outside of the “in all likelyhood”. 3000 line LL

Gnome is the only linux DE that tries to be consistent (probably due to more centralised decision making). I think that makes it most likely to be most user friendly over time.

It's great to have the choice but the context was pretty MacOS UIs. There the only competition is Gnome and i was arguing that it's slowly getting nicer than MacOS.

Recent editions of MacOS look so bad that Windows might actually be better designed (if it weren't for all the windows ads and spam). Gnome is starting to become the nicest desktop environment lol.

This, but also you would be allowing people to learn Linux. Developer with a Mac has to be one of the most common linux defectors. I suspect most people don't realize how doable and comfortable the switch can be.

With pricing 100gb/8usd Immich would be wildly uneconomical. Better to wait for upcoming immich hosting to support the project or use ente.io - those are 1tb/10usd.

Isn't this nature of every dedicated server? You also take on the hardware management burden - that's why they can be insanely cheap. But there is middleground in form of VPS, where hardware is managed by the provider. It's s
