Well we don't all get our computers off the back of trucks so I'm not sure this is relevant.

What sort of home server use cases do people need OS X for? The only thing I could think of is running an Xcode build server but that seems quite niche.

Intel NUCs are even better for home server use cases. Similar form factor, much cheaper, and you can put your own memory and storage in them. Just built my own last week and it idles at 5W, it's great.

The point of the app is it does this for you automatically when it detects screen sharing, negating the chance that you forget to turn it off yourself.

Leaving safety critical functionality to chance is bad engineering, it's not some ubermensch societal design or whatever you're going for here.

Are you running X-Plane 11 with some terrain mods or something? I'm clicking through some Youtube videos of it and the terrain in X-Plane isn't even close to what's in this MSFS video.

Cheney was Secretary of Defense for four years under Bush I, during a small adventure you may remember called Desert Storm. I doubt this was the first time he's ever had to make a life or death call. In the article he also mentions tra

In many cases AWS's absurd rate limits would make it hard to build a functional UI even if we wanted to. I imagine this is one major reason why list views and filtering/searching them is a disaster in every major AWS service.

The giant heatsink seems like plain overkill, given the author of the article was able to stop it from throttling under stress tests with a much smaller and simpler fan install

TDP is based on the base frequency, which decreases on those models as the core count increases. May not explain it fully but probably contributes to constant TDP.

This meme of not getting rescue dogs is so harmful and needs to stop. Good adoption agencies will foster the dogs for a while and let you know if the dog actually has behavioral issues. Plenty of them don't. I'm convinced my rescu
