You're right, it's not official documentation, but it was the first thing I read when I decided to start learning Mongo. I've also seen 10gen hand out hard copies at meetups in NYC. Anecdotal, I know, but maybe helpful to someone. There's a

You're making an assumption that a person has a base level of net worth with which they can buy a car outright. Someone who is "in debt" by definition has a negative net worth, so even a very cheap car ($500 or so?) would be difficult to pa

Thanks for the clarification, I thought the hash difficulty was updated much less frequently. The word "random" is still very misleading, as your chances would still be determined by your mining power.

This guy only used 302 from a dump of 453,491 passwords to come to these conclusions. I can imagine no reason why he'd intentionally invalidate his analysis by using such a low sample size unless this conclusion doesn't actually hold when y

This is general psychology and applies just as well to product design as it does to marketing. Too much choice can be a bad thing both because it clutters up the flow of your product and because humans just aren't very good at picking the

Slightly OT, but I wouldn't say that R was "built for large scale analytics." You have to go through some serious hoops to work on anything in R that takes up more than 50% or so of available RAM. Revolution Analytics's R build is designed

If you are equipped to hunt bear, you are almost certainly not using an automatic. Any caliber high enough to drop a bear in one shot (which you want to do as to not ruin the bear) would break your arm into slivers were you to fire it at au
