Is AutoGPT used in a production/productive setting? That would put some perspective on the situations where these insights are applicable.

Wow that's cool. I didn't know about it, thanks for sharing! Side note, it looks like the AMD MI250 supports FP16, and the raw TFLOPS is ~15% higher than an Nvidia A100 80GB, with a significant advantage for AMD in terms of memory

While I don't agree with your conclusion, as it seems Rich Sutton was simply paraphrasing Hans Moravec, I found the video pretty interesting. Thank you for sharing it.

This doesn’t bode well for Brave’s self professed mission [0]. Maintaining a Chrome fork is already difficult enough on its own, especially with the number of directions where Brave wants to diverge. [0]: https://news.ycombinator

Let me introduce you to SCHUFA[0], a credit scoring system in Germany. It has livelihood implications that make it very hard to live without a good score. Good luck finding a flat with a bad one. It doesn't blur the line between privat

Fair enough. I guess that justifies the existence of automation API in browsers. It doesn't really protect chrome extension capabilities though.

There’s a chance something like this ends up happening in the West as well. Could be watered down in some way. It only takes a couple more columns in the database of a credit scoring system to start looking at other factors. These systems b

Wouldn’t be surprised if corporate browser vendors start clamping down on this over time. I wonder which competing/opposing interests could provide counter-pressure to this trend, because let’s face it: caring for user interests is a l

Haven’t dug in their code, but my best guess is to get the user to trigger a “trusted” event which is needed for access to certain browser APIs such as clipboard or audio. Probably some fingerprinting trick. The same is done by shady news w

Intriguing thought, but arguably people are intentionally using GPT to generate synthetic data for their domain specific model. So I'm kinda torn between AI giants poisoning the well with their models, or it just being unforeseen conse

There’s no _single_ consumer or datacenter GPU that is currently breaking 100GB VRAM. In this regard, the Apple offering is pretty unique, but their compute capability is lagging. Also the 800GB/s figure for memory bandwidth is impress

I believe the fp64 limitation came from the laptop-grade GPU I had rather than inherent to AMD or ROCm. The API level I could target was at least two or three versions behind the latest they have to offer.

The interactive component in the article was a really nice touch and made it much easier for me to understand the effect at play. I wish we could see more of this in technical articles and scientific publications.
