Epic launcher actually randomly crashes my display window manager from time to time, I just can't have it running in the background as I do with Steam.

I guess you are talking about Ylva Johansson, who is the spearhead of this. Every time she opens her mouth on this subject any person with knowledge on this subject breaks on the inside a little more, she has no idea what she is trying to d

I just ignore them mostly, I find that in the space that I currently work in both ChatGPT and Bard hallucinate like crazy and I get recommendations for things that does not exist and when I ask them about this they always keep hallucinating

I was this person at my old job. It was never about a promotion for me but some misplaced sense of a work ethic that was somewhat drilled into my brain. I've turned around since then and still do a lot but not too much.

Agreed. I, and we (at work) use argparse and it works as intended. I don't know why I would ever switch at this point. Also I feel like arguments should not be ordered unless absolutely necessary, just feels like a head ache to me.

Good to know but not really for us. Their cloud will not be able to access our internal network where most of our stuff lives. I'm sure it's configurable to some degree but is never going to happen.

I don't really see the appeal. We don't even use the same dev environments at work, some use vscode, others use pycharm or codeblocks or whatever. We have code locally, on github, on gitlab and in other places. Also I can't r

Systemd is still a sore spot for some people, in some ways me included, but I'm over it and use it daily.

I got excited because I read "mystery-o-matic offers a daily random number mystery". But this is cool too.

Not sure if it's changed that much since I can't really remember a lot from Bryce but it seems to look about the same (?) https://www.daz3d.com/bryce-7-pro

Love Tom7, his video "Compiling C to printable x86, to make an executable research paper" [0] is my favorite but most of his stuff is super interesting. [0] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LA_DrBwkiJA

It does so for me, I searched for a book and then there was a button that says "Suggest me what to read after X" on top. Could be better UX but works fine at the time of writing this.

I am very averse to online only tools. I don't really like using them in the browser at all. I don't get this trend. If I do graphics I mainly use Gimp or InkScape but I don't do any of that very often. Mostly I just code or

Most of my games don't really work with Proton very well. Also nvidia gpu which is very weird to fix. On this particular computer I run windows with an MX VM where I do most of my work. On other computers I run Debian or MX.

Street ads are not that common here and I'm never really in the central area of my city. However I mainly spoke about online ads because that's what I thought OP was talking about.

Not that Blood and Honey was particularly good as a movie but you do miss the fact that even if "most people really, really do not like" it, some people, including me really, really do. The concept of it. And this for me personall

I agree with most of what you say but I don't know how you manage to see that amount of ads. I use a couple of browser plugins and generally I don't see more than maybe five ads a day, not counting sponsor spots in youtube videos
