Instead of attacking their product, maybe Google the benefits of standing or light walking during the day in re: to diabetes, heart disease, so forth.. A standing desk is a great way to encourage people to get up and move while they work in

I was wondering why someone hadn't done this. It's a bit of dangerous press. If the car breaks down, or runs out of battery for some reason, that's not going to look good. Bit of a gamble.

Cloudinary does that. We used it for a bit but ultimately decided to roll our own. Their service worked great though. We've tried a bunch of options since hosting on Heroku makes large scale image processing a chore. Cloudinary was bes

The disc is just storage now. You put it in, install it to the xbox, and then it activates to your Live ID. Then the disc is useless and you can give it to anyone you want. When they install it, it's not activated to their account, so they

I was enjoying this viewpoint until all the f bombs. I'm just as guilty in day to day conversation but this opinion would be way stronger if it dropped the arbitrary tone. Just a thought. I hadn't thought of the marketplace effects of no fe

I understand that. We're in the same boat. We have to use PayPal because it's what our customers want. But it's up to the business / organizer to minimize the risk, same as it's PayPal's job to minimize theirs. Could split processing betwee

How is this related to just conferences? PayPal doesn't have an anti-conference agenda.. There seems to be two things that set PayPal off. 1) Small volume to huge volume in a matter of days. 2) Taking payments for something happening in the

So you're essentially saying that the people in the WFH program have given up because it's not inspiring work. And Mayer canning that program to cut the dead weight is bad because it gets rid of them? She's trying to shift the culture over

Heroku is a bit of a black hole with this kind of stuff. They shrugged off the legitimate concerns of a 20k/month customer. I certainly appreciate them publicizing the issue and starting a conversation.

I think the lesson learned in all of these cases is don't leave tons of money sitting in your PayPal account. Link it to a bank account, turn on auto-sweep, and don't amass a huge balance that ultimately seems rather suspicious (whether it
