If youre curious, Cruise has a fairly comprehensive (but long) overview of their tech that goes over their world model and world simulation stuff: https://youtu.be/uJWN0K26NxQ So no, its a bit more than a house plant

I understand your argument but it’s disingenuous to say TCP started in 83. It was widely published in 74 with implementations in 75.

Yea, as a first-time Google analytics user I recently had to navigate the GA4 vs UA products (the blogging platform I used only supported UA, but every new guide is for GA4). When it came to instrumenting my actual product, I just used Ampl

This is pretty interesting! Skiff ( https://www.skiff.org/ ) also uses private, encrypted CRDTs for their collaborative docs, but not in a BFT manner (the updates are encrypted but still sent to a central server AFAIK).

Hi HN, author here -- Dark Forest is a massively-multiplayer real-time strategy game. It's also a game that runs on the blockchain...! As a gamer first & developer working in the web3 space second, I was skeptical when I first trie

Sort of. Look up Western Unions role in the 1876 US election[1]. Stolen communications to support a specific candidate and a compromise between political parties on military presence sounds like a very precarious position for free society t

Antennas are super fun, they still feel like magic to me every time I see one. In college I took a microwaves theory course where we had to design antennas for some problem sets, and we gave them to some dude in a basement lab who then fabb

You can do this locally though, it just takes like 200 GB. I've run an Ethereum full node + eth2 beacon chain node on my Macbook Pro for local development, took like 10 hours to sync IIRC and just worked afterwards. I still use Infura
