A simple low energy computer that does one task like word processing or act as a terminal client with an ink display would be a useful for focusing on one task without distraction. I personally would love to have a low energy terminal devic

This is why it is important to not depend on a single commercial IDE to do all your work. Datagrip has been my go to for sql but would be willing to switch back to dbeaver if I had to. I also use Pycharm when a client has me working with Te

It seems that of all of the contracts that businesses sign the ones they are most keen to terminate abruptly is the employment contracts with their staff.

Most big name champagne is priced to cover the marketing and sponsorship, small estate champagne can sometimes be better value for money as they have smaller overheads. At the same time the big names can produce more at scale or rely on dee

Yes I have used the old usb sk-8855 and even bought the Tex Shinobi mechanical keyboard. I still prefer the feel of typing and using an x220 over anything else. When a client sends me a dedicated machine to work on I still get round this by

Yeah I have to agree here. The first gen SE size was good for me to use for one handed control which was very useful where the device acts as a remote control for a few devices in my home. The screen for the 2nd gen SE is an inch taller and

I remember a running something in the Terminal around 10.5 that put up and down scroll buttons at the the top and bottom of the scroll bar. They were useful for the time.

Finding the people who can code is one thing, inventing a device that causes most peoples attention span to reset every 30 seconds is another thing. A lot of people would switch to coding compared to other 21st century jobs but they are inh

I distinctively remember around 1994 two family run stores in the UK town I grew up in disappearing and the reason was the same, Blockbuster. I didn’t play games much but I recall them also renting out Japanese nintendo games and also sold

i3 was pretty instant for me and made me go from casually using Linux at home to making Ubuntu 20 LTS a stable daily driver at work. I think I needed one tutorial to get my config and status bar then I was good to go. It took a little while

Children of the 60s and 70s were probably the last in the UK that could get away with long lunches, client meetings in the pub and no work Friday's. I worked in IT sales and marketing in my twenties and saw this quite often and it was

I found it significant for readability but have only seen it so far in github gists. I use vim and sometimes sublime text so a plugin could probably insert a faint line per row similar to how it is done indicate character length.

It would be interesting to show the market capitalisation of all major record labels vs Apple over the last 25 years. File sharing was given a massive leg up at the expense of recorded music and looking back it was really the underground an
