Right now the search widget is the only one that displays comments: http://mm.urbantwelve.com/ We could do this pretty easily though.

You don't have to replace your profile url with ours, we only suggest that for people that don't have a website. You could claim your comments: http://www.backtype.com/url/news.ycombinator.com%252fuser%3F... and add them to your account a

The potential for this idea is what got me excited the minute I saw your post. As an aside, I think twitter still needs to release support for OAuth, there are too many sites out there storing twitter credentials in plain text right now. Ca

Kudos for being so open and also for injecting a bit of humor into these posts. Tom is a badass developer and I know TicketStumbler is going to be even more awesome as you roll out more concerts and more.

I'm surprised speed benchmarks are left out. There are a number of posts that do some simple tests. I like cjson because it's so fast -- it performed about 50x faster than simplejson for the strings I was decoding.

I think a lot of people forget the responding part. Sometimes it's hard to know when to respond and when to let things go -- but it's amazing how quickly a pissed off user turns into a loyal one if you take the time to communicate with them

Exactly! We will be publishing a blog post soon that shows the difference between BackType search results and other services. I think businesses should be using every tool that is available to them to track their brand. That includes BackTy

Fair enough. We've found it a useful way to explain the idea of following all your friends comments. There are two ways people are using it right now; following comments by the author (twitter for comments), and searching them by keywords.
