I'd absolutely love to see ruby in Light Table, how are plans looking for this? If there was a kickstarter for adding ruby I'd pony up in a flash. I realise manpower is probably going to be the main issue though...

Yeah, they don't look great with a ragged right edge. With justified text the structure would be far clearer.

I've tried a couple of these but I always find I have too many special case layouts for them to be useful. What I really want is something with a grid like divvy where I can then adjust the size and position of a window on the grid using ke

The rails delegate helper really helps with this, just declare which methods you want forward, optionally with a prefix. Sometimes a different name is more descriptive but this covers a large portion of the cases. class Foo < Acti

The open-closed principle involves creating classes that _never_ change in the future. If you want to extend their behaviour you should subclass them. This makes some sense in a codebase with no tests, the risk of change becomes too high. B

I work remotely but also have space in a shared office about 10 minutes walk from my house. There's some great benefits to this setup, if I want some social contact I head down to the office and if I want to really focus for the day I can s

I've been exploring different logging options recently, papertrail, loggly, logevents and now splunk. Papertrail was definitely winning for simplicity but I felt the first three really fell short when trying to filter the returned informati

It strikes me that excel appeals to people for exactly the same reasons that lighttable appeals to developers. You put numbers and equations in and instantly see the results. If you need to do something complicated you can build it up, one

One of the great things about a fleet like this would be that you could change your car depending on where you were going and what you were doing. For example you take a 1-seater to get around a city but if you go a longer drive you take a

There really isn't much difference between using a bootstrapper class or a spring xml file, they're still both configuration files and should be equally convenient to maintain. One of the advantages spring gives you in your scenario is mult

Hmm, at the default zoom level when the page loads the flyouts from either side partially cover the page. What I was looking for was a zoom option in the View menu that zoomed the page to fit exactly between the two flyouts when they're ope
