We do a quick phone call screener and then do some pair programming. We only do half a day of pairing (for which they're paid for) but I find that this is the perfect place to do a stealth interview with the candidate. They feel comfor

If you take the brackets and the closing tags out (use meaningful space) it's a hell of an improvement[1], . A format I really like (ok it's aimed at html not xml) is the slim templating language[2]. It manages to pack the same in

Seems like an ipad is pretty close to what you want. If you could project part of the screen and leave some left for nav, new slides etc. then you could draw at will and be able to jump around slides without having to disturb the audience w

ember-data is a great example of why promises can be useful. When a view is loaded you query your server for the model(via ember-data's api), but at this point what you get is a graph of unresolved promises. It then gets passed through

From oxforddictionaries.com[1] Kudos comes from Greek and means ‘praise’. Despite appearances, it is not a plural form. [1] http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/kudos

Yeah, I think this comes with experience. I started off testing everything but over the years you get a feel for which tests aren't going to add value over the lifetime of the project.
