> If you’ve ever tried to construct a crossword, you’ll find that the framing of a crossword grid under square theory feels right. When you’re nearing the end of the grid-filling process, finding valid crossings of words to fill that fin

My favorite sideprojects are daily games. One I am currently enjoying building is VideoPuzzle: https://videopuzzle.org/ where you have to unscramble a video split into 4x4 tiles. We are up to almost 200 puzzles, with around

Fascinating, and great explanation. What about insert and delete operations however? Isn't there a risk of there being too few tokens to properly finish the code in-between the "final" tokens?

This demo video of Veo 3 on reddit, featuring a variety of characters talking in different scenarios and accents, is one of the most incredible AI demos I have ever seen: https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPT/comments&#

Fantastic to see it's getting updated! I am a big fan of litestream, have been using it for a while together with pocketbase. It's like a cheat code for a cheap, reliable and safe backend.

I think this is a brilliant idea! Surprised nobody has built it yet. I would definitely use it.

Cool! For anyone looking to practice, I've made two daily games featuring similar concepts: https://clickword.org - use tiles to form words, placed words disappear, get as many points as possible. https://spacewo

Fun, love word game computations! Reminds me a bit of the challenge to place the challenge to place all letters in the alphabet in as small a grid as possible, with valid words: https://gamepuzzles.com/alphabest.htm I made

This is really good feedback I think. My puzzle has an overarching thing with down direction also forming words: https://squareword.org/ I think that would not work here as there are though as there are not enough combinati

Nicely done! :) I think this works well as a daily game, smart to get players to fill in the survey. Quite hard though! I only got one right for today.

This looks great as well! :) Love the addition of a creative element. I also recently launched a new one: https://spaceword.org (90% of the code is written by cursor)

Are you aware of pocketbase? https://pocketbase.io/ I think it could work for your usecase, even though its generally focused on being a backend. I have had a very nice experience.

Hello HN! Over the past few weeks I created a new word game, https://spaceword.org . Every day, you are given a set of 21 letters that need to be arranged in a crossword (all directions forming valid words), while taking as littl

I've come across the m5paper, which is probably a bit more lower-level than what you are looking for (ESP-32 based), but maybe still interesting: https://shop.m5stack.com/products/m5paper-esp32-development-... ?

This article seems to be paywalled unfortunately. While LLMs are very useful when the tasks are complex and/or there is not a lot of training data, I still think traditional NLP pipelines have a very important role to play, including w

I really enjoyed the article, especially the focus on a gameplay loop, and leaving polish for later. Often I have found that I can tell if a game will be "fun" after a super low fidelity prototype. One of my games began as a jupyt
