Interview your customers and ask them what their biggest problems are, and why they like you. Find and interview people who aren’t YET your customers and ask them why they aren’t.

I use a much simpler system, I have recurring reminders setup and when they trigger I just reach out to that person. I try to keep things light, like a text message, photo, link, etc. the great thing is that you can use the same message

This is the reason I left the whole app ecosystem. Apps are cool, and sometimes really great, but there’s no sense of permanence, no guarantee that your data will survive for long, that the app will be maintained, or that future devices wil

Emacs is worth it from a “creating an ideal environment” perspective, but it is a nightmare from a “stay focused” one. Tweaking your editor becomes very easy and very distracting.

I almost entirely use Apple Maps. I live in a large city so the data is very accurate. And I only really use it for driving, so I can't compare transit, hiking trails, etc. When I travel to less populated parts of the country Google Ma

Haha. I work at a VFX studio and it used to be that the AE rendering machine was the same as the online/finishing machine (the one we'd watch for final approval with clients). Anyway, it was very normal for clients to come in, wat

There are, of course, lots of ways to define success, but if you're talking about running a business then your Dad's experience largely matches what I've seen in my professional life (small business). The interesting thing to

Amen! I've found that 9 times out of 10 successful people follow the same advice and believe the same things as unsuccessful people (at least they SAY they do). So it's really useful to look at people who failed yet followed the s

The problem with opting out of these things is just how much our modern society relies on them, in very practical ways. There's a local business (great croissants) that closes on random days (the owner is French) and the only place the

The solution for me is to keep an index in the front or back of the notebook. Each time I write something of significance I put it in the index.
