Astoria was the start of a lot of the technology behind the Windows Subsystem for Linux, if i remember correctly. I use WSL every day, so that was definitely not a failure in my book.

Well, in the most general case where x's value can only be determined at runtime, most any compiler can and will assume that the initial if could or could not be hit and will therefore assume that y could , conservatively, be uninitia

Foxit is great on Windows, but it seems like their Mac and Linux versions are both pretty limited by comparison. Still could check it out, though! (I got rid of my mac a few months ago and only ever used Preview when I had it, so I cant com

I find that it still falls down with a lot of programming questions, but in those cases I can always punt out to google. Aside from that, I think it works plenty well.

Can't agree more. ASP.NET Core with C# is a breath of fresh air after doing mostly complicated express.js-backed SPA development for a while.

I am currently working on two dotnet core projects (both ASP.NET Core) and my only complaint has been the tooling. Visual Studio talking in terms of solutions and the dotnet cli talking in terms of projects means that I have `launch.{sh|ps1

Well, you don't have to write any declarations -- everything will just be typed as `any`, which isn't preferable but is exactly what you'd get if you weren't using typescript.

This looks a lot like typescript. Is there any particular reason for not either 1) adding a wasm backend to tsc (which tsc may or may not allow), or 2) implementing a strict subset of typescript? It just seems like piggybacking off of a lar
