My understanding is that each car can run a shadow model, and then they have a data collection thing running that uploads interesting video clips, where one of the possible conditions is "something different than what we predicted happ

You should donate to them because when you use them at those very rare times, they are your only option. They really care about preserving the past. Also, who cares about the UI if you only use them rarely? You don't buy ice cream from

Just like taxes can be used to kill people in foreign countries, it can be used to save people from fire and illness, educate them, etc. When you try to defect from paying tax, you may have in your mind the people not killed with your money

I think Fukushima killed much of the remaining enthusiasm, but really it's the high cost of building new nuclear plants across Europe that's keeping it from being an option. If building a new plant was cheap, I'm sure you

I also think that people underestimate good nursing, both for sick people and children. Hospitals are not necessarily great places to live. May be the care at the hospice actually gave her something to live for.

If you have a cheap means to an end or an expensive one, and you have limited funding because of politics, you will want to pour all your money into scaling the cheap means - then you'll get there much, much faster. I live close to a w

There are two problems with this reasoning. First, you are comparing the cost of written-off plants, for a technology that has huge upfront costs and much lower fuel costs. Fission is not cheap if you build a new nuclear plant, not in the W

I sort of agree, but I think in the end, your recovery thing will have to include the decoder and that's it. As I recall, there were two reasons for the binary format - a signing scheme to make it tamper proof and more metadata on each

If you like Baroque keyboard music, try something like Scarlatti. It's a bit difficult finding good interpretations (I have a CD somewhere), but here's an example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTi-QXenilQ Rameau

Besides tempo, at Bach's time, dynamics (loudness) weren't usually written down. But there's always a lot of interpretation involved, even today. The score is a very rough model of the music, akin to jotted down notes outlini

Hah, that's funny. I grew up with a super fast Karajan (perhaps to make it fit on an LP?), and have had a hard time adjusting to the slower tempo that most recordings have. Personally, for me all Beethoven symphonies >= 4 are a trea

Not even quantity. I can do dishes faster than my dishwasher if you compare end-to-end times. Now, some industrial machines are much faster, but for home use, if I had a humanoid robot that could do dishes, why would I waste space on a dish

UI component design is extremely difficult. It's at the intersection between UI design and API design, both difficult disciplines in themselves. It doesn't help that it has traditionally been mired in OO hype sauce.

Newer wind turbine contracts make the turbine owners turn off their engines. And it is only very few hours of the year that the prices turn negative anyway. You can't base anything off that. It's just not worth it.
