Don't know if he was bragging or not, but if you have achieved something, I think it's hard to talk about yourself without someone thinking you're bragging. I once got a top grade after passing an exam where I had read one pa

I think you misunderstood what he is talking about. The issue he's addressing is that you don't care about other projects also using this library.

Nuclear is being phased out due to cost. As more things are discovered that could go wrong, it gets more and more expensive to fix all of them. Nuclear is also bad at this kind of thing. You really want either storage (storing heat is easy,

Can you explain why? Neither needs dancing robots, and both seem capable of building things themselves if they need it?

For wind, take a look at the companies in the FAN ETF. There's a similar one for PV: TAN ETF. Great puns, really.

I see where you're heading, but I think this is an odd comment. From a market perspective, the few big companies can afford to pay really high wages because of a monopoly-like situation that they are under investigation for, while stil

Yes, steam isn't used anymore, it's too inefficient. The trend is towards lower temperatures in the district heating.

I had the same experience some years ago when I looked up a terror bombardment against Copenhagen by the British in 1807: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Copenhagen_(1807) I was trying to find out if terror bom

I watched that interview half a year ago, and came away with the impression of a curious humble guy who was interested in digging deep below the surface and working on big advances. I think you meant to refer to [2], and that part of the in

I think the plain answer is that if they didn't, you wouldn't know about them. Just like all other parasites. In some sense, we're all parasites on plants, that in turn feed on the energy delivered by the giant fusion reactor

That's not a necessary precondition for being a jerk. The necessary precondition is that they want exclusivity. I feel this is nitpicky, but considering the GP's point about entering predefined games...

I'm not much into Steve Jobs, never been an Apple user, but I get the impression that Steve Jobs was a very judgmental person, also on behalf of others. Having said that, I personally also think that it would better if the non-molding

Some of these are self-inflicted wounds, though. For instance, why do you have to declare inline boxes to be inline-block before you can add padding to them? Perhaps just because of backwards compatibility, which could perhaps have been sol

The trick was to know beforehand what would work and what wouldn't. That way you only had to spend a couple of hours in the end fixing small things that were broken in IE. A couple of well-placed "zoom: 1" could fix a lot.

This seems (somewhat?) orthogonal to what you're doing with Pijul at the moment, but I feel that auto-merging to avoid manual handling of obvious cases is somewhat underdeveloped in modern version control systems. Perhaps that's j

I'm not an expert on layouters, but I'm pretty sure that in the general case the height of an element does in fact depend on how it is layouted including what elements it is layouted with. I also believe that's why some tradi

I downvoted you because you are stating things as a fact that are not true, and have not been true for several years. Modern EV batteries don't loose much of their capacity over time. You probably have your information from old Leafs.

There are studies detailing how to do this. There are some uncertainties in which technologies will prevail when you get to the last few percents before reaching 100%, but 55% is neither hard nor expensive. Much of the tech is already cheap

Fusion is not going to solve the sea level rise problem. You can see this by comparing it to fission. Fission fuels is not expensive on a kWh base, so cheaper fuel is not really a big advantage. Fusion plants produce radioactive waste too (
