Well, it lasts 2.5 - 3 hours with Breath of the Wild. But yeah, it does depend. 5 hours would be enough, I agree.

Since they're making a portable-only model, it would make sense to have a stationary-only model as well. We'll see!

Battery life is the number one reason I haven't gotten a regular Switch. But this doesn't allow for connecting to a TV at all... I want a Switch that is juuuuust right :/ Perhaps they'll fix the firmware of the regular S

Part of the issue with federation is the very nebulous concept of servers themselves. What should my domain name be? This question alone is enough to stop someone in their tracks. There's only so many non-stupid sounding names. And sho

That's exactly what FreedomBox is trying to do. https://freedombox.org/ They have a lot of work to do on user friendliness and design though. I'd rather see something like YUNOHOST partner with a hardware provider

>This is like saying "skip the car, take a rocket ship." That's exactly what it is like saying. Sure, some people might not want a rocket ship. That's fine. But that is the logic behind "skip go, take rust".

Why pay Twilio for web-rtc though? Aren't there enough open source web-rtc wrappers like Janus?

I agree. I would guess the "why" is that Rust is capable of everything that Golang is capable of, except more and better. Not to mention that Rust has a very supportive community to help each other.

If I started a Twitch (or Discord) competitor today, I would use Janus as a base for web-rtc to share the load https://janus.conf.meetecho.com/ In fact, Evasyst is a blend of Twitch and Discord and uses Janus for this reaso

It’s certainly better than having all identities sitting on one company’s server. In that case, they can delete whoever they want and they also know your IP (look at keybase for example). Check out the Jami developer blog.

This is how every thread on this topic goes. 99% downvoted and hate directed towards me. A couple of people chime with “yeah I agree with you”. And nothing changes because it cannot. Because it’s based on preference.
